Gucci now accepts crypto-currency in some of its US shops

Gucci is taking the plunge into crypto-currency. The Italian fashion house’s customers will now be able to pay in electronic currency at selected Gucci shops in America, including Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles and Wooster Bourse in New York.

Gucci is expected to accept several digital assets, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), litecoin and some stable currencies backed by US dollars.

In practice, when a customer makes a purchase in the shop, they will receive an email containing a QR code allowing them to validate the transaction directly from their own digital wallet.

The House also has ambitions to expand this service to other shops in North America.

Recently, OffWhite, the brand owned by the LVMH group, also accepted crypto-currency in its shops in London, Milan and Paris.
