While it opened the largest of its stores in Place Vendôme in June 2020, the Grand Seiko watchmaking house continues to expand its presence in France, where consumers have been able to order their watches online since December 15, 2020.

By setting up in Place Vendôme, the Japanese brand had already made a strong showing on the occasion of its sixtieth anniversary. Since 1960, Grand Seiko has been recognized for the sobriety and detail of its models, meticulously handcrafted. The company has established itself on the Parisian market alongside the biggest names in the watchmaking industry, such as Patek Philippe, Rolex, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Blancpain.

In addition to this store in the 1st arrondissement, a new online store has been added, offering a wide range of products to French consumers. While some limited editions are not yet available on the site, the selection will expand over time. The e-shop also offers an online concierge service, allowing customers to be put in touch with a Grand Seiko advisor at Place Vendôme during a telephone or video call.

The deployment of this new system was a real necessity for the brand. “Since our opening in June, we have been receiving daily messages from our customers asking for the possibility of making online purchases. We are delighted to be able to offer a new possibility for our French customers to visit us, even if they live far from Paris or cannot visit us as often as they would like. We have therefore designed this site for our French customers to provide them with the same experience as the Place Vendôme, with the ease of online shopping,” said Frédéric Bondoux, President of Grand Seiko Europe.

The launch of an e-commerce site was also part of the watchmaking company’s development policy, which began in 2017 with the creation of the Grand Seiko Corporation of America and continued in 2020 with the structuring of a European branch.

Today, Grand Seiko is distributed in Europe in around sixty points of sale. However, the brand plans to expand into other countries. “Our role is to make the greatest number of customers discover this unique brand that is Grand Seiko […] This online store is only the beginning of our journey, and we will launch many other omnicanal alternatives in France and Europe in the coming months” announced Frédéric Bondoux.
