De Lesquen succeeds Philippe Fortunato, a LVMH veteran whose six-year mandate straddled two distinctly different creative directors: Riccardo Tisci, culminating in an acclaimed exhibition in New York, then Clare Waight Keller, who arrived from Chloé in 2017.

Renaud de Lesquen has been appointed new president and chief executive officer of Givenchy according to an internal note sent to the employees of the LVMH house and will take up his duties next April.

According to the same announcement, Fortunato left the group to “pursue a personal project”.

The statement makes no mention of Waight Keller, and it is understood that it remains under contract for the time being.

The group went to find its new CEO internally and for good reason, Renaud de Lesquen has been with Dior since 2012.

First in charge of the brand’s operations in China for the perfume, cosmetics, fashion and jewelry network, he left for the United States four years later to don the CEO costume of Christian Dior Couture and Parfums Christian Dior. In 2019, he was promoted to CEO of Dior Americas.

A graduate of ESCP Business School in Paris in 1991, Renaud de Lesquen studied at L’Oréal, notably at Lancôme, Helena Rubinstein, and at Giorgio Armani Beauty, before being promoted to CEO of Yves Saint Laurent Beauty ed-italia.com.

Founding fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy sold his label to LVMH in 1988 for $ 45 million after 36 years of independence. He remained responsible for creative design for seven years before retiring in 1995.
