The luxury group LVMH announced in a press release on Thursday the appointment of Frédéric Arnault, 25 years old, as CEO of watchmaker TAG Heuer. He will take up his post on 1 July.

The young Polytechnique graduate, after starting out at Facebook and then at the McKinsey consultancy firm, had already joined the brand of the luxury giant LVMH in 2017 in order to develop activities linked to connected watches.

His appointment “reinforces the work accomplished at Tag Heuer, where he succeeds in combining innovation, heritage and know-how within this historic company”, his father Bernard Arnault saluted.

A fervent player in this technology, Frédéric Arnault is actively working on the development of connected watches, as the famous watchmaker is already in its third generation of connected timepieces.

“Connected watches strengthen our core business since, thanks to this product, we are making a lot of customer acquisitions. These are customers who, in a second phase, will be able to take an interest in traditional watchmaking,” he confided on the RTS antenna.

As for Stéphane Bianchi, who until then held the position of CEO of TAG Heuer and headed the Watch Division of LVMH, he will also see his functions rise within the division as he will head the Chaumet and Fred jewellery brands, in addition to the watchmaking houses TAG Heuer, Hublot and Zenith.

“I am very proud to see Frédéric Arnault succeed me at TAG Heuer after having already made a major contribution to its strategic repositioning,” he said in the press release.
