After the announcement of the deconfinement schedule by the government, cultural venues will finally be able to reopen their doors. For the occasion, the Yves Saint Laurent museum will be offering a brand new exhibition from 17 June.

If we know the link between Yves Saint Laurent and certain cities such as Marrakech or Paris, the new exhibition of the museum of the same name will allow us to discover the designer’s affiliations with the city of Lyon and the know-how of the fabric houses.

Seven Lyonnais houses will be honoured in this museum, houses that were necessary for the implementation of his genius for fashion. Some of the pieces in the exhibition have never before been revealed to the general public.

The exhibition will plunge visitors into the complex world of fabric work, revealing the secrets of materials such as crepe, muslin, taffeta, velvet and many others.

The Yves Saint Laurent Museum is located at 5 Avenue Marceau. Originally, this address was Yves Saint Laurent’s former private hotel where the designer imagined all his collections. Later, this hotel became the Pierre Bergé Foundation, former companion of Yves Saint Laurent.

“Presenting this exhibition at 5 avenue Marceau, in the historic location of the fashion house, is at the same time paying a well-deserved tribute to the emblematic know-how of an entire region,” Aurélie Samuel, director of the museum’s collections, told Vogue.

According to a strict sanitary protocol, the Yves Saint Laurent museum will be open between 11am and 6pm, from Thursday to Sunday, until 5 December 2021.

Attention enthusiasts, it is now time to reserve your seats. Online reservations are required on the museum’s official website.
