Canadian hotel group Four Seasons, taking its first steps into the ocean cruise industry, recently placed an order with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for a second exceptional luxury liner.

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has announced that it has signed a contract worth over 400 million euros ($437 million) for the construction and delivery of a second luxury vessel for Four Seasons Yachts.

Four Seasons Yachts is jointly owned by Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings and Four Seasons Hotels, two well-known players in the industry.

This new order follows the successful collaboration between the two companies the previous year. Fincantieri had already won a first order from Four Seasons Yachts in 2022. While Four Seasons Yachts is scheduled to launch its services in 2025, this second vessel will be delivered in 2026.

Today’s result also testifies to the beginning of the recovery of orders in the sector, while reinforcing Fincantieri’s leadership in the new extra-luxury segment based on high hospitality”, said Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO of Fincantieri, in a statement.

Proof of confidence

This new order testifies to the growth of the luxury shipbuilding sector and confirms Fincantieri’s position as a leader in this segment.

“Confirming the trust of a prestigious brand such as Four Seasons is a great satisfaction for us and further proof of the validity of a unique entrepreneurial project that is destined to change the world of cruising in terms of design, technology and sustainability”, added Pierroberto Folgiero.

Fincantieri, whose shares have risen by 1.0% to EUR 0.53 per share following this announcement, is positioned as a key player in the creation of luxury cruise ships.
