Located in the 19th arrondissement in Paris, 19M, la Manufacture de la Mode Chanel (the fashion manufacture by Chanel), unveils its first free exhibition in its art gallery. This event can be discovered until April 23rd 2022.
Last January, the French luxury house Chanel inaugurated the 19M in Paris, a complex of workshops where eleven craftsmen are gathered to make Chanel creations. Among the eleven art houses loyal to Chanel are the embroiderers Lesage, the Atelier Montex, the goldsmith Goossens, the hatmaker Maison Michel, the feather maker Lemarié, the pleater Lognon, and the bootmaker Massaro.
The art gallery is home to an exhibition revealing the making of the project led by the designer, Gabrielle Chanel. Dubbed “L’Ouverture du 19M” the event brings to life the architectural development of the factory and presents the different Maison d’art and their know-how.
Visitors will also be able to take part in creative workshops to try their hand at these passionate crafts, such as bag jewellery making, embroidery or weaving. These workshops cost 15 euros and must be booked in advance, although the embroidery workshop is free of charge from Wednesday to Saturday, from 2 to 5 pm.
The exhibition is open from Wednesday to Saturday and from 12pm to 7pm. For more information about the exhibition, click here.
