These two ultra-luxury hotels, owned by the Accor Group, opened their doors today in Doha to FIFA guests and VIPs. A forthcoming opening had been announced on social networks.

This double inauguration heralds the entry of the two brands Raffles and Fairmont in Qatar. These five-star resorts are as surprising as they are ambitious, being reserved exclusively for FIFA guests and the VIP delegation.

The two prestigious establishments have found their place in Doha, the capital of Qatar, in the same building. Housed in the circular, futuristic Katara Towers, the two hotels are (almost) one.

Raffles Doha: more than a hotel

The Raffles Doha has 132 rooms, including suites, which come with personalized butler service. It offers a grand experience in an impressive setting, where you can see the city from above.

It also has the sumptuous Katara Hall, a huge space with a ceiling height of more than 20 meters and a ballroom. The hotel also offers customized beauty and wellness packages, with nine spa and fitness suites. Each is equipped with its own treatment room and some even offer private outdoor terraces and pools.

But that’s not all. The restaurant and relaxation area offers exceptional services. The resort has four outstanding restaurants. Doha’s Alba is run by the famous three-Michelin-starred chef Enrico Crippa, L’Artisan celebrates the art of modern cuisine and Maki Lounge is more of a lounge than a restaurant. Finally, the Blue Cigar features a giant library and a collection of custom-made cigars.

Fairmont Doha: pure luxury

The Fairmont offers 270 rooms, 96 suites, including four themed suites and a presidential suite. The hotel has an exclusive floor – Fairmont Gold – which is synonymous with a privileged experience, accessible to very few people. All suites are inspired by the interiors of luxury yachts. Between the warmth of Doha and the interior of the rooms, guests will escape into a bubble of hotel luxury.

The decor of the rooms is equally fantastic. With golden mosaic tiles on the walls and rich woodwork, they have a spacious layout inspired by Qatari design. The finishing touch is a large furnished terrace with panoramic views of the coast.

Guests can visit any of the Fairmont Doha’s three restaurants.  At Masala Library, created by author and TV host Jiggs Kalra, guests can enjoy Indian cuisine. In Vaya, a Latin American restaurant, bustling with open kitchens, dishes are prepared at the table, right on the plate. Finally, the Dome, an elegant and sophisticated tea room, is a perfect place to enjoy afternoon tea while sampling French-inspired pastries and other dishes.

For now, both hotels are not open to the public. You’ll have to wait until after the World Cup to admire and discover them.
