Radisson to open luxury hotels in India

US-based Radisson Hotels & Resorts has stated its ambition to open several luxury hotels in India, including in the major cities of Delhi and Mumbai and in Rajasthan.

 

Radisson Hotel & Resorts will soon launch its luxury brand, Radisson Collection, in India. The hotel company wants to take advantage of the growing Indian demand for luxury properties. To this end, the company has already entered into negotiations with several local partners. The development plan is based on the conversion of existing palaces and hotels into luxury hotels in the two major cities of Delhi and Mumbai, as well as in the highly touristic region of Rajasthan, which has dozens of former palaces that could be converted by the American group.

 

Radisson Hotels & Resorts already has about 100 properties in India since it entered the market in 1998, spread across seven different brands of the group. The group’s luxury arm, Radisson Collections, is already present in Spain, Belgium and Italy, in other key European locations as well as in Asia, and is expected to enter the Indian market soon.

 

Radisson‘s aim is to meet the growing demand for luxury accommodation from the affluent local population. India is an increasingly important tourist and business destination. The country is developing strongly, but the Covid pandemic has been a hindrance, particularly due to the closure of the borders. However, with new announcements on easing restrictions, the country wants to bring back visitors.

 

In addition, tourism in India is a major generator of large infrastructure projects. Infrastructure and resorts are being built, but the country lacks quality and luxury establishments.
