Metaverse : DFS Group unveils its first virtual world dedicated to beauty

DFS Group, the Hong Kong-based global leader in selling luxury goods to international travellers, has unveiled its first-ever virtual world called DFS World in conjunction with the launch of its largest annual beauty campaign.

 

Called ‘Open Up Your Horizons’, the campaign invites customers from around the world to learn about new beauty trends and discover the travel retailer’s wide selection of beauty products, including skincare and fragrances.

 

This is made possible through a combination of in-store activities and a fully interactive, digital luxury ‘playground’ in the metaverse.

The “Open Up Your Horizons” campaign is built around three themes: Effortless Not Lazy, Stay Up, Glow Up, and Future You.

 

 

The first theme, “Effortless, Not Lazy,” offers accessible luxury makeup with time-saving looks for the on-the-go, low-maintenance beauty enthusiast.

 

The second, ‘Stay Up, Glow Up’, is dedicated to late night party looks and next day skincare to help night owls ‘stay glowing from dusk to dawn’.

 

The third ‘Future You’ is designed to help consumers prepare for the metaverse with fluid, luminous cosmetics and fragrances inspired by digital filters and virtual worlds.

 

The campaign will run from August 1 to September 30, 2022 in select DFS shops worldwide, including Auckland, Guam, Hong Kong, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Macau, New York Okinawa, San Francisco, Saipan and Sydney. While in Abu Dhabi and Bali, the campaign will run from September 1 to October 31, 2022.
