Launched digitally on January 25th from Switzerland, the second edition of the Watch week 2021 of the LVMH group unveiled the new Bvlgari collection. Splendid models combining high watchmaking and high jewellery.

In 2019, the LVMH group decided to create the annual rendezvous for its watchmaking offer. The event was inaugurated in January 2020 at the Bvlgari Hotel in Dubai. This year, the show brought together the houses Hublot, Zenith Watches, Tag Heuer and Bvlgari.

According to the group, they will “combine forces to present new pieces as well as iconic creations”.

This is an opportunity for the jewellery and watchmaking houses to retranscribe their unique spirit and know-how through creations that respect their traditional codes. For Bvlgari, it is “new Bvlgari creations that express the spirit of the House: sensitivity to jewellery and craftsmanship, iconic and audacious designs, a synthesis of DNA rooted in Italy and the ultimate Swiss know-how. »

The house whose philosophy is “L’esteticca della mecanica” then unveiled 3 collections of jewellery watches, each composed of 5 models: Serpenti Spiga, Diva’s Dream, Lvcea, Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon, and Octo Finissimo.

The sublime reinterpretation of the snake with the Serpenti Spiga

This range was the most eagerly awaited feminine range in the watchmaking world. The reinterpretation of the symbolic snake gave rise to the Serpenti Spiga, offered in yellow gold, rose gold and diamonds. The 18K double spiral watch has a black or white dial and a double spiral bracelet set with diamonds. The gold crown is set with cabochon-cut rubellite.

“The Serpenti Spiga watch blends tradition and modernity. Contemporary in its design, purely Roman in its symbolism, this watch wraps around the wrist, evoking a feeling of infinity through its abstract wheat ear motif, engraved in the bracelet itself”. emphasises the House.

The sparkling Diva’s Dream line

The collection celebrates beauty and colour and this time it is the peacock that is honoured within the 3 feminine timekeepers: the Divas’s Dream Peacock Dishi, the Divas’s Dream Peacock Diamonds and the Divas’s Dream Peacock Tourbillon Lumière.

The Divas’s Dream Peacock Dishi and the Divas’s Dream Peacock Tourbillon Lumière are each limited editions of 50 and 10 models respectively. With an exceptional dial in natural peacock feather marquetry, the watches reveal unexpected materials and exclusive craftsmanship.

Divas’s Dream Peacock Diamonds, the majestic bird has been delicately hand-painted with meticulous partitions, and its outline has been created using the exclusive goldsmithing technique called champlevé. The dial is accompanied by a supple bracelet featuring the emblematic fan-shaped motif of the collection, entirely set with diamonds.

The Lvcea artistic range

The new Lvcea Intarsio watch reinvents the daily round watch characteristic of the House by adding a jeweller’s touch. Its dial radiates and lets the light pass through. Mother-of-pearl pieces that are individually worked and faceted, then assembled one by one to evoke the sun’s rays make up the creation. This is a classic craft technique inspired by “intarsia”, the ancestor of marquetry.

The sporty Octo Finissimo range

With the Octo Finissimo men’s models, Bvlgari combines aesthetics with sport.

The new Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Titanium features a new opaline black dial and textured rubber strap, complemented by an ultra-thin titanium case for lightweight resistance.

The Octo Finissimo S model has the world’s slimmest automatic movement and is available in an unprecedented monochrome stainless steel edition with a silver vertical brushed dial with a particularly contemporary look. Its in-house automatic calibre BVL 138 with micro-rotor is water-resistant to a depth of 100 metres.

The new Octo Finissimo S Chronograph GMT features a blue dial with an ultra-thin BVL 318 GMT calibre and has a mechanism enabling it to display a second time zone.

The Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon sensory range

The brand innovates again and explores its Estetica della Meccanica inspiration, creating another Sinfonia della Meccanica with the Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon.

The aim of the range is to raise the level of sensory expression through sound, so the watch has a three-hammer chime combined with a tourbillon regulator: a skilful Italian interpretation of Swiss watchmaking expertise that comes to life in innovative materials and bold design.

An impeccable expression of Bvlgari’s Sinfonia della Meccanica, this sonorous masterpiece demonstrates incredible precision in its complex mechanics and perfect innovation with a metal grid on the movement that helps to propagate the sound through the body of the case.

Strategically, the event should enable the LVMH group to boost the visibility of its Watches and Jewellery segment, since the Division recorded a 30% drop in sales in the first three quarters of 2020 due to the pandemic context. Moreover, LVMH has just announced results well above expectations for its financial year 2020.

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world’s leading luxury products group, recorded revenue of 44.7 billion euros in 2020, down 17%. Organic revenue declined 16% compared to 2019. The group, which presented its 2020 results on Tuesday 26 January, owes this resistance to its fashion, leather goods, jewellery and spirits departments.

LVMH showed good resilience in 2020 in an economic environment severely disrupted by the serious health crisis that led to the suspension of international travel and the closure of the Group’s stores and manufacturing sites in most countries over a period of several months.

With an organic revenue decline of only 3% in the fourth quarter, the Group saw a significant improvement in trends in all its activities compared to the first nine months of 2020. Fashion & Leather Goods in particular, enjoyed a remarkable performance, with double-digit growth in both the third and fourth quarters. While Europe is still affected by the crisis, the United States saw a good recovery and Asia grew strongly.
