“Le Grand Prix de Monaco” trophy signed by Louis Vuitton

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

As in previous years, the winner of the Monaco Grand Prix will receive the trophy after the race. But in 2021, the winner will receive his trophy in a custom-made case designed by Louis Vuitton. The design will feature the colours of the Principality and the emblematic monogram of the luxury house.

The trophy collaboration marks the beginning of a prestigious, multi-year partnership between the luxury house and the Automobile Club de Monaco, the event’s organiser.

But this is not a first for Louis Vuitton in the sporting world, as the company has previously specialised in the creation of bespoke trunks for the world’s greatest sporting trophies: from the Rugby World Cup to the NBA, not forgetting the French Open and the Football World Cup, the luxury house has become accustomed to collaborating with the organisers of the greatest sporting events.

“Le Grand Prix de Monaco” fits into these criteria of great events, as it is one of the three most prestigious races in the world, having celebrated the victories of the greatest names in motor racing such as Schumacher, Alonso and Hamilton. It also remains one of the most watched events every year since its creation in 1929. This illustrious heritage will now be associated, for several years, with that of the luxury house that instigated the “art of travel”.

“At nearly 300 km/h between the rails, this is the Formula 1 Grand Prix that all drivers aspire to win one day. Today, we are proud to be associated with the championship and to begin writing a piece of history together,” said Michael Burke, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, in a statement.

On the trophy case, the famous Monogram canvas is adorned with an imposing “V” for Victory, with red and white lines echoing the colours of the Monaco flag. The trophy itself represents the 19 corners of the track. The trunk, which was designed and created in Louis Vuitton’s historic workshops in Asnières, is a perfect illustration of the company’s unrivalled expertise, and is at least as precious as the trophy it contains.

On May 23, the competitors will have to compete on the circuit in front of 7,500 spectators to win, which for the first time this year will be dressed in Louis Vuitton.
