The American star wants to discuss her contract with the luxury brand after the publication of photos of children deemed “pedo-chic” in the campaign for its Maison collection.
Kim Kardashian wants to “re-evaluate” her relationship with Balenciaga, which is in turmoil after the publication of its latest campaign featuring children with SM-style strapped bears. The French luxury fashion house, owned by the Kering group, apologised last week on its Instagram account and removed the controversial photos.
But Internet users also noticed that in another photo, a bag from a Balenciaga-Adidas collaboration is placed on top of documents including excerpts from a US Supreme Court decision on child pornography. Choices that are difficult to accept.
I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been disgusted and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened.

“I’ve been silent for the past few days, not because I wasn’t disgusted and outraged by Balenciaga’s recent campaigns, but because I wanted the opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened,” Kim Kardashian said on her Twitter account on Sunday evening.
She said she was “shocked by these disturbing images (…) as a mother of four children”. She continued: “As for my future with Balenciaga, I am re-evaluating my relationship with the brand, based on their willingness to accept responsibility for something that should never have happened – and the actions I expect them to take to protect the children.”
On social media, calls for a boycott of the luxury brand are growing with the hashtag #CancelBalenciaga or #fuckbalenciaga.
