The Polish shipyard Sunreef Yachts, specializing in custom luxury yachts and catamarans, created and managed by Frenchman Francis Lapp, has received a prestigious award at the International Yacht and Aviation Awards 2021.
Sunreef Yachts received the “Best Sailing Yacht” award for its new model Sunreef 70, which was recognized for its “innovative and cutting-edge design that combines exceptional living space with great performance under sail and advanced technology“.
The A-Class luxury yacht, measuring 21.4 m / 70.1 Ft in length, with 287 m² / 3089.24 Ft² of living space, will make its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
Earlier this year, the company won another international award for the catamaran it built for tennis champion Rafael Nadal. It was named “Best of the Best” in June by the influential Robb Report magazine.
Named “Great White,” Nadal’s catamaran will be presented exclusively at the upcoming Monaco Yacht show in late September.
The company has also contributed to Poland’s reputation as a leader in the production of luxury yachts.
According to Eurostat data, Poland is no slouch when it comes to yacht sales. In fact, it would be one of the leaders with 60% of yacht exports in the European Union in 2018. Between 2014 and 2018, the value of exports doubled from 184 million euros to 395 million euros.
