Hermès, a leather specialist, honors materials such as ceramic and titanium with the H08 collection.
The H08 model from Hermès owes its uniqueness to the meticulous work on the shapes with softened edges. The geometry is unprecedented, between the round and the square. The creative teams reveal that its name refers to mathematics and physics, enigmatic.
Indeed, the numbers 0 and 8 are evocative. The 0 embodies the void and the 8, tilted horizontally, symbolizes infinity. So many symbols. “This writing is like a journey between nothing and everything, like an echo of the mystery and thickness of time,” reveals Hermès.
The H08 collection is equipped with an automatic H1837 movement, designed in Switzerland, with a 50-hour power reserve. It drives the hands around a satin-finished black gold or nickel-treated minute disc, punctuated by luminescent numerals.
The cases were made of innovative materials : “When we choose a material, it is because it has a function. Aluminum for its lightness, ceramic for its weight and comfort… For example, the graphene composite case, molded then machined, is an extremely hard and light material. The black ceramic bezel is scratchproof and light. The titanium back is both light and hypoallergenic. We can also play with contrasts, each material has its own color and reflects light in a certain way, allowing us to obtain original reflections and nuances,” explains Philippe Delhotal, the brand’s creative and development director.
Positioned as a casual, contemporary and urban watch, the H08 reveals a truly sporty look.
Price to acquire this contemporary timepiece: from 5,100 euros.
