The acquisition, which follows GOAT Group’s investment in Grailed in September 2021, will bring together a community of more than 50 million members across 170 countries.
The merchant site GOAT is enriching its offer with second-hand goods, thanks to the acquisition of the platform Grailed, a specialist in men’s fashion. Goat did not yet have experience in the resale market, which is Grailed’s vocation. Goat, which sells mainly streetwear clothing and accessories, is also expanding rapidly. The company, which launched its own offering in 2019, reports order volume that has more than doubled in the past 12 months.
“Grailed is a leader in the men’s fashion resale market with a strong community of style enthusiasts,” explains Eddy Lu, co-founder and CEO of GOAT Group. “Together, we will advance our collective mission of bringing together the greatest products of the past, present and future, while delivering innovative and memorable experiences to our community around the world.”
“With its uncompromising brand identity, GOAT Group is the perfect complement to Grailed’s forward-thinking community of fashion enthusiasts,” said Arun Gupta, co-founder and CEO of Grailed.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in approximately 45 days. Until then, the two companies will continue to operate independently.
