Never before had St. Mark’s Square hosted such a show, but that was without counting on Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana who wanted an exceptional place to present their Haute-couture show.
Among the celebrities present : Jennifer Lopez (who caused a sensation on Instagram by posting a photo of her outfit for the occasion), Monica Bellucci, Kris Jenner, Christian Bale, or Dame Helen Mirren, among others, were lucky enough to attend the fashion show presented this Sunday, August 29 in Venice.
After a show of about twenty minutes mixing carnival and fellinian story, the fashion show begins with no less than 100 models, worn by models arriving in gondolas from the river. Among them, the daughter of Heidi Klum, Leni Klum and Deva Cassel (daughter of Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel) brought a breath of fresh air to the show, against a background of “Nessun Dorma” performed by Jennifer Hudson (soon to be in the cinema in the biopic on Aretha Franklin).

As with every Alta Moda collection show, it is the local craftsmanship and culture of the host city that inspires the designers to celebrate the richness of Italian craftsmanship.
There are dresses embroidered to reproduce the patterns of Murano glass or serpentine patterns borrowed from the floor of San Marco.

“We have always believed in the strength of Made in Italy and in the creative and artisanal heritage of our country” explain Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana: “the creation and realization of our haute couture, tailoring and jewelry collections, each time inspired by a city or a magical place in Italy, allowed us to discover or rediscover local and Italian craftsmanship in general.”
