Bernard Arnault is once again the world’s second richest man

On Tuesday, French businessman Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of the world’s leading luxury goods group LVMH, regained his second place as the world’s biggest fortune.

Bernard Arnault has an estimated business wealth of 161 billion dollars, just above Elon Musk, but still behind the wealthy Jeff Bezos, founder, major shareholder and CEO of the famous Amazon platform, whose fortune is estimated at 190 billion dollars, according to Bloomberg. Bernard Arnault is, however, the only Frenchman to make the top 10 of the world’s biggest fortunes.

In July 2019, businessman Bernard Arnault’s fortune was estimated at 108 billion dollars, a fortune that has therefore continued to increase between 2019 and 2020.

This second place among the world’s biggest fortunes can be explained by the fall of Elon Musk, who suffered a loss of about three billion dollars. All the same, Bernard Arnault does not demerit his place because despite the health crisis, the luxury sector has held its ground and has been able to reinvent itself to keep its figures up.
