95% of the group’s global network already complies with ALLSAFE protocols; 65% of the establishments are certified and the remaining hotels will be inspected by the end of 2020. This hygiene and cleanliness label is a guarantee of confidence and assurance for customers, allowing them to stay in complete peace of mind while protecting their health.
Accor has just announced that it will continue its efforts to establish its leadership in cleaning standards and rigorous operating procedures, for optimal protection of its customers’ health.
Following the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 epidemic, Accor was able to reopen the vast majority of its hotels, 95% of which have already implemented the ALLSAFE solution, which brings together various cleanliness and hygiene protocols developed jointly with Bureau Veritas.
To date, Accor has had 65% of its addresses certified under this label, as part of a process involving inspection and accreditation by external auditors such as Bureau Veritas, SGS, Clifton or Ecolab. In a press release issued on Friday, the group said it was “doing everything possible to have the remaining establishments independently certified to ALLSAFE standards in the coming months“.
“Accor is grateful for the confidence its customers have shown in protecting their health and well-being, a mission to which we give top priority” said Chris Cahill, Executive Vice President, Hotel Operations. “Throughout this challenging year, our teams have taken on the challenge of reinforcing already strict protocols and complying with even more stringent health regulations, while continuing to welcome, protect and care for our guests; as hoteliers, this constant attention is at the very heart of our business and our reason to be”.
An exclusive study, conducted by Accor in June-July 2020, indicates that a hotel stay ranks among the three activities that the group’s clients are most eager to pursue in the coming months, after a beach getaway and a visit to their loved ones. While consumer intentions in the travel industry remain below pre-Covid levels, 75% of consumers say they are still attracted to the idea of staying in a hotel where they can count on the high standards of cleanliness and professionalism of the staff.
The ALLSAFE label was created by Accor to reassure guests by adopting cleaning and hygiene standards verified by third-party organizations. These standards were developed and approved by Bureau Veritas, a world leader in inspection, certification and laboratory testing. Travellers will identify the ALLSAFE logo on the website of the Accor hotel they wish to book, knowing that they can trust the hotel to meet (or exceed) this standard and get there with peace of mind.
In order to obtain ALLSAFE certification, a hotel must comply with a detailed list of 16 international commitments, developed jointly with Bureau Veritas, with a total of more than 100 standards. These reinforced health and prevention protocols include, for example, more thorough cleaning, with frequent disinfection of all sensitive areas, such as elevators and communal toilets, deep cleaning of rooms using products and materials used in hospitals, and high-temperature cleaning of furnishings, carpets and bedding.
Still other measures require ALLSAFE-certified hotels to limit the number of seats and ensure physical distance in restaurants, bars and common areas, carry out temperature control of guests when required by local standards, install disinfection mats at hotel entrances, or offer, where possible, contactless payment solutions and check-in and check-out outside the reception area.
Accor has also taken the unparalleled decision to make a free telemedical assistance service available to all its customers. Thanks to an international partnership with AXA, one of the world’s leading insurance companies, Accor customers in urgent need of medical care now have access to high-quality teleconsultations. Customers also have access to AXA’s vast network of tens of thousands of healthcare professionals in the field, which will enable the company to offer its clients the best possible service.
