In July 2021, Rouen (Seine-Maritime) will open its new culinary training institute, that of the famous brand Fauchon. The institute will thus become the first culinary arts school of the famous Parisian house specializing in gastronomy and luxury groceries.

The project is taking shape. On February 21, the Normandy region launched the procedure for the sale of a building in Rouen. According to an official statement, it will be a 5,000 m2 building located on the left bank of the Seine near another school that radiates nationally, the INBP (National Institute of Bakery and Pastry).
This “Fauchon Institute” will welcome around 800 students each year, 30% of them foreigners, and will offer training for several sectors of the culinary art.
It will issue diplomas covering the different facets of gastronomy and service, ranging from the Professional Quality Certificate (CQP) to Bac +5. The primary ambition? Unlock new great talents – the Pierre Hermé and Christophe Michalak of tomorrow.
Classrooms, laboratories, kitchens, bar, application restaurant and sales area, everything had been thought of to make the school a place that was both functional and professional “with an emphasis on French excellence” , explains Michel Ducros, the majority shareholder of the Fauchon group.
A new step in the diversification of Fauchon’s activities which is also developing in the hotel industry (its first hotel opened in Paris in 2018) and which plans to open many stores, especially in airports.
A new Fauchon school which will therefore be a showcase for the know-how of an internationally recognized brand, but also excellent news for Normandy, since according to Hervé Morin, the president of the region, the school will constitute “a factor of attractiveness exceptional for the city and its agglomeration ”.
