“Plaid+ is cancelled. No need, because Plaid is so good” .
This car, which is supposed to be Tesla’s top-of-the-line model, will be replaced by the Model S Plaid. Revealed in another tweet as the “fastest production car ever built of any kind” , it could go from zero to 60 miles (65 km/h) in 1.99 seconds, have a top speed of 200 miles per hour (220 km/h) and an estimated range of 390 miles (427 km/h).
“What we’re finding is that once you get past the 640 mile range threshold, a longer range doesn’t really matter. There’s almost no trip over 640 kilometres where the driver doesn’t need to stop for a bathroom break, a meal, a coffee, etc.” , said Elon Musk about the range of the upcoming Model S Plaid.
The Model S Plaid is expected to be unveiled at an event on June, 10th, and is expected to cost around $112,990 (about €97,000), according to the company’s website.
