The Coty brand announced two new senior talent appointments at the head of its consumer beauty division. Stefano Curti joins the ranks as Chief Brand Officer, and Alexis Vaganay is appointed Chief Commercial Officer.

This week, Coty announced two new senior appointments for the consumer beauty business. Stefano Curti will be based in New York and will focus on enhancing brand value and positioning. He will also lead the division’s innovation performance.

Stefano Curti is no stranger to the beauty industry, having spent 30 years in the United States and Latin America. He held the position of Global President at Markwins Beauty Brands and also worked for 22 years at Johnson & Johnson, where he worked in the marketing area of the company until he became Global President for the beauty and baby division.

Alexis Vaganay, appointed Chief Commercial Officer of Coty’s consumer beauty business, also has several years of experience behind him. Indeed, Alexis Vaganay has more than 20 years of experience in various sales and marketing positions. He will not be based in New York, like Stefano Curti, but in Amsterdam, at Coty‘s headquarters.

He will be responsible for managing Coty‘s regions, in collaboration with his counterpart in the luxury segment, and for developing the business strategy of the consumer beauty division. His objective will be to increase market share and revenues in make-up, body care, and fragrances in the consumer beauty division. Prior to these new appointments, Alexis Vaganay was Executive Vice President, after four years as Managing Director of the UK & Ireland luxury division.

This is not Coty‘s first appointment in recent months. The Coty group had already announced the appointment of Isabelle Bonfanti as Chief Commercial Officer of the luxury division last October. She brings with her more than 30 years of experience in the development and transformation of international brands, including 17 years in the Luxury Goods division of the French giant L’Oréal.

In addition, she has been joined by Jean-Denis Mariani, previously at Guerlain, and now Chief Digital Officer. These appointments of senior talent demonstrate Coty‘s interest in developing its consumer beauty division, in order to better assert itself in the market, in the face of already well-established giants such as L’Oréal.

The Consumer Beauty division is an essential pillar of our business. In times of uncertainty, the Consumer Beauty industry has an essential mission: it is the place where people can access the latest trends and innovations, find the best quality at an affordable price and discover the diversity of all kinds of beauty,” comments Sue Y. Nabi, CEO of Coty.
