Launched in November 2016, the Code 41 brand reinvents the established vision of the watch industry. With its accessibility and transparency, Code 41 is successfully establishing itself in the watch market.

Born from the spirit of three watchmaking enthusiasts, the TTO (Total Transparency on Origin) label was created. As its name implies, the purpose of the label is to give the precise origin of the components used, the operations carried out, the manufacturing and development costs. They found the Goldena Project group, and they decided to adopt a distribution system that is facilitated by the absence of intermediaries and that privileges the community tool, at the same time significantly reducing costs in order to be able to offer lower prices.

The group had decided to unveil the secrets of the prestigious Swiss Made label in 2016, claiming that most of their components are actually produced in China and only then assembled in Switzerland. In November 2016, they are launching a participatory fundraising campaign on the kickstarter platform. Their policy of transparency on the manufacture of watches, as well as the entry price of 700€ (compared to the 2000€ displayed by competing brands for the same standard), seduced the public and the campaign was a success.

Goldena Project became Code 41, a term which, in computer science, represents a system error, just as the brand represents an anomaly within the Swiss watchmaking system. In addition, 41 is the country code of Switzerland.

In the field of watchmaking, Code 41 stands out by selling its watches directly to the consumer, without going through a physical retailer. The brand is only available online, with free delivery and return and a two-year warranty for all its watches.

The brand defends its values while offering high quality watches. Four models are now on sale, as well as a wide choice of interchangeable bracelets and three eco-friendly bracelets made of biodegradable leather, linen and even recycled paper.

Since 2016, the brand has been a resounding success, with more than 13,800 watches sold and a 20-fold increase in sales. Code 41 is playing an increasingly important role in the watchmaking sector and even in Haute Horlogerie since the launch of a high-end model, the X41 (5390€).

Unlike many other major groups, Code 41 was not impacted by the economic crisis related to COVID-19 and even made a significant number of sales in July with the release of the X41 Titanium & AeroCarbon model.

And this success is not about to come to an end, as the brand has announced new projects underway for 2020 and 2021, and even organized a customer survey for the design of the Chrone project, which attracted 17,000 voters.
