The Italian House of Bulgari has teamed up with the French-Moroccan brand Casablanca to design a capsule collection, inspired by the world of tennis. The exclusive collection will only be available in selected Bulgari boutiques worldwide.

Known for its hand-painted silk shirts, Casablanca revisits the Serpenti motif for a limited edition collection as part of the “Serpenti Through the Eyes Of” series and thus marks the latest chapter in the project, which was launched in 2017.

“We wanted to bring something new to the world of Bulgari. No one has ever associated Bulgari and tennis and I think it’s really modern, without challenging the brand’s codes or breaking with the past” commented Charaf Tajer, Designer at Casablanca, to WWD magazine.

The seven-piece capsule collection is divided into two chapters: “Après Tennis Story”, launched on April 20, and the “Mosaic Story”, available from May 20, which is inspired by the classical architecture of Rome.

This is the first collaboration with a major House for the Casablanca brand. The collection incorporates elements inspired by vintage tennis equipment, combined with Bvlgari’s vintage snake head from the 1950s. The first “drop” includes the Serpenti Forever handbag in white perforated leather with green accents and its removable wooden handle, inspired by a tennis racket. This is the first time the House has used wood for a leather goods piece.

“We really liked that he actually takes classics and tries to interpret them in a really modern and young way. Also, we like the fact that it’s very colourful. We thought it brought a very young and fresh take on the icon,” said Mireia Lopez Montoya, General Manager of Leather Goods and Accessories at Bulgari.

“This year there will be a lot of things happening in Paris for Bulgari, so I think it’s a great coincidence,” added Mireia Lopez Montoya.
