French financing and business development organisation Bpifrance announced Monday, the launch of the international mission “Explore & Match: French Touch Dubai” in partnership with the national agency for the internationalisation of the French economy, Business France.

Over a period of four days, this mission aims to promote the French culture and art of living as well as to highlight the French Touch community in the UAE market.

To this end, 22 French companies from the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) sector will be accompanied by these two organisations in several projects. A booming sector, the UAE has an ecosystem that the press release considers favourable to the development of these companies, notably thanks to its young and connected population.

What has been organised for these companies in the United Arab Emirates?

Bpifrance and Business France will provide these companies with several “experiments”, which will allow them to test the UAE market and confirm their strategy of setting up in the Middle East.

As part of the “Explore & Match French Touch Dubai” international mission, Bpifrance is accompanying 22 companies from the retail and entertainment sectors on a 4-day turnkey mission. […] Feedback from French entrepreneurs established locally and a programme of targeted business meetings will complete this immersion for an effective development strategy in the zone” , said Pedro Novo, Executive Director in charge of exports at Bpifrance.

First of all, this mission will start with the discovery of innovative concept stores and shopping malls, the main distribution channels in this country. A key meeting with a local market player will also be organised, with the aim for the selected companies to meet potential future customers and partners, via a programme of personalised business meetings.

Patrick Chalhoub, Chairman and CEO of the Chalhoub Group, which is the most important distribution network for luxury brands in the region, and sponsor of the mission, will be present with his teams to discuss with the companies. “We are very pleased to sponsor the delegation of companies on the French Touch Dubai mission, which enables 22 emerging or established brands to better understand the local market and ecosystem. This approach is rooted in the Group’s mission to accompany and support young talents and small companies in developing their business and building strong partnerships with local communities. We are delighted by the interest that the region represents more than ever for French companies and brands” , said Patrick Chalhoub. said Patrick Chalhoub.

In addition, a trip to the Louvre Museum annex in Abu Dhabi as well as a guided tour is part of their programme, a must-see place, and a reflection of French culture in this country. Finally, the selected companies will participate in the closing ceremony of the Dubai World Expo to discover the emblematic Pavilions of the Expo such as the Saudi Pavilion or the Women’s Pavilion, sponsored by Cartier. During a lunch in the presence of local institutional actors, they will have the chance to discover the French Pavilion, a showcase of French excellence and know-how.
