The Italian manufacturer, expert in sports cars, has exceeded its targets in 2022, reaching 2 billion euros in sales. And many deliveries are still to be expected for a year 2023, thanks in particular to the arrival of a new model.

The luxury car industry is not in crisis. After Ferrari and Maserati, the figures for Lamborghini, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen group, were eagerly awaited. And it is with great satisfaction that the company has unveiled its 2022 balance sheet.

Like its Italian competitors, the carmaker has achieved a very good year 2022, with a turnover up +22% to 2.37 billion euros and a profit up +56% to 614 million euros .

This performance was driven in particular by the delivery of nearly 10,000 combustion engine cars in 2022. This is a record in the history of the brand.

This success is due in particular to three emblematic models, known and revisited, including the Huracan Tecnica and the Hurus Performante.

The sports subsidiary also owes its good profitability to the pooling of technologies with other brands of the Volkswagen group, which owns Audi. For example, the Lamborghini Urus platform is shared with the Audi Q7, the Audi Q8 and the Bentayga (Bentley model). Another platform is shared between the Lamborghini Huracan and the Audi R8.

New year, new model

The Aventador, another iconic model of the brand, gets a makeover in 2023. It has been unavailable to order for several months, mainly due to a change in engine. Switching from combustion to hybrid, a bet that more and more manufacturers are taking and that Lamborghini has taken up.

This new model should be presented in a few weeks, but for the moment, many questions remain unanswered. Almost nothing has been communicated about it, except for some aesthetic details. The automotive industry expects a fully digitalized interior and exceptional engine power. The name of this new car has not been revealed. All that is known at the moment is that it will run on green.

The new car will allow the manufacturer to reach a new milestone by probably exceeding 10,000 deliveries, and to surely increase its sales. In short, to see further and better.
