British luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin has unveiled its latest V12-powered Vantage model, which will soon be retired. The brand is planning to go electric in the near future.

This edition will only be produced in a limited series : 333 examples only, all of which have already been sold at a price in excess of 200,000 euros. It is indeed a collector’s edition, as it will be the last model to have a V12 engine, as Aston Martin wishes to move towards the electrification of all its vehicles, like many other car brands.

“This V12 Vantage is truly a swan song,” commented Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman and investor at Aston Martin. “There is a history of V12 Vantages in this company that goes back decades and this will be the last one we make… before we move to hybridisation and electrification.”

Aston Martin has also revealed the power of the V12, which is now rated at 700bhp and 753Nm from its 5.2-litre block, which accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds. The first deliveries of this latest V12 Vantage model will take place closer to spring 2022.

Aston Martin’s plans for a 100% electric car are for the first model to be available in 2025, followed by an electric option across the range the following year.
