The Consumer Electronics Show is an unmissable event that takes place every year in Las Vegas in the United States. IT professionals, Gafam representatives, companies and start-ups meet for a few days to present their innovations. But also to immerse themselves in the technologies of tomorrow, or even the day after tomorrow. Luxus Plus has selected for you four novelties in the automotive sector within the edition that has just ended.

The 2023 edition started last Thursday and ended yesterday afternoon. It’s a great opportunity for car manufacturers to show the world their latest innovations and new technologies.

To begin with, the latest spectacular visual innovation from BMW is sure to impress. Indeed, the car brand presented a concept car whose body can change color. Named I-Vision Dee, for digital emotional experience, it has 240 cells (or lights), offering 32 different colors.

These lights are able to change autonomously, and in several different ways. The revolution is not only in its chameleon side, but also in its windshield which can be used as a real screen. Indeed, a five-position slider integrated into the dashboard fabric allows the user to choose the size of the projection. In other words, the windshield becomes the dashboard.  The driver can choose to switch to a full-width display, or even project an image onto it; in autonomous driving mode, for example.  The German group claims that the advances of this technology will be used as early as 2025 on the future 100% electric Neu Class sedan.

Chrysler: between innovation and eco-responsibility

The American carmaker Chrysler, which wants to become 100% electric by 2028, is already thinking about the interiors of tomorrow. Its Synthesis concept, presented at the Consumer Electronics Show, is a step in this direction. It synthesizes the best of Stellantis’ design and technology. It incorporates Level 3 autonomous driving technology. In other words, the car is equipped with artificial intelligence that detects the habits of each occupant, to offer personalized driving. Eco-responsibility is also part of this new project: its materials are 100% recyclable and its fabrics are made from recycled plastic bottles.

Honda x Sony: a partnership that works

Japanese carmaker Honda has teamed up with Sony to develop a 100% electric sedan. Called AFEELA, this car also announces a level 3 autonomous driving. The interior is bright and uncluttered and has a large digital panel on the entire dashboard. The feat comes from the car’s intelligence, which includes 45 sensors and cameras and is capable of performing 800 trillion operations per second. Could it be the future of the autonomous car and a direct competitor to Tesla and Lucid?

Volkswagen: a new electric sedan

During the show, Volkswagen presented many innovations, with the latest information on its next electric sedan. The model that was initially called ID Aero, revealed its final name during the Consumer Electronics Show: ID7. This large sedan is equipped with a 15-inch touchscreen tablet, but its real novelty comes from its autonomy which would reach 700 kilometers.
