The Mandarin Oriental Palace in Lucerne reopens today after a thorough and meticulous renovation.

The Luzern Palace, a landmark address from the 1900s, has been given a facelift in the colors of Mandarin Oriental. Under the direction and supervision of the Asian brand, luxury and elegance are more important than ever.

A ceremony with great pomp

The ribbon-cutting ceremony marks the reopening of this mythical establishment, a Belle Époque monument emblematic of the city. It was attended by Cecilia Bartoli, the great opera diva and long-time fan of Mandarin Oriental hotels.

The inauguration is also attended by big names such as Christian Wildhaber, the hotel’s general manager, Shin Ting Wang, the Chinese ambassador, dignitary Lijun Yu and other members of the group’s management team.

The palace has undergone a thorough and rigorous renovation, led by Swiss architectural firm Iwan Bühler Architekten and London-based interior design firm Jestico + Whiles. While bringing in new features and contemporary decor, they preserved the building’s rich historical heritage.

A grand experience

Among the 136 rooms on offer are 48 spacious suites, some with panoramic terraces overlooking the lake and mountains.

Already present in Switzerland through its hotel in Geneva, the chain is once again focusing on gastronomy. The new Luzern Palace includes four restaurants and bars under the direction of Michelin-starred chef Gilad Peled, who previously worked in France.

Among other things, guests will have access to a spa, dedicated to regeneration and serenity.

To celebrate its inauguration, the Palace has designed offers to seduce clients who will be among the first to discover its impressive renovation.

Available from 700 euros per night, these offers include a night in one of the rooms or large suites, breakfast and a credit, between 100 and 150 euros, to be used in one of the four restaurants or a wide choice of typical city experiences.

Ready to shine again on the shores of Lake Lucerne, the hotel is a member of Swiss Deluxe Hotels, a Swiss association of nearly 40 of the most renowned 5-star hotels in the country.
