LVMH Métiers d’art announces major investments in two renowned Italian manufacturers: Robans and Ally Projects.

LVMH Métiers d’art has just acquired the exotic leather tannery Ally Projects and acquired a stake in the high-end leather ready-to-wear manufacturer Robans. This is the latest step in a long series of investments.

Created in 2015, LVMH Métiers d’art was set up to bring exceptional raw materials to the LVMH group’s houses, bringing together the most talented manufacturers and craftsmen, who combine the latest technologies as well as unparalleled expertise in their fields.

Robans and Ally Projects join the many manufacturers that already belong to the structure, such as Tanneries Roux and the metal and costume jewelry manufacturer Jade Groupe, to name just two.

Jean Baptiste Voisin, President of the branch attests, “I am very pleased to welcome Robans and Ally Projects to the LVMH Métiers d’Art family and I would like to thank the founders and owners, with whom we share the same vision, for their trust.

Robans shapes leather in its own way

This company is the benchmark in the manufacture of leather garments for ready-to-wear and made-to-measure. Its know-how includes shaping, material research, prototyping, industrialization and production.

Working with many leathers such as lamb, calf, woolly skin or fur, Robans has also acquired skills in textiles and technical fabrics. This manufacturer has been working for a long time with the most important leather brands.

Ally Projects becomes Heng Long Italy

Since 2013, this exotic leather tannery has been supplying Italian luxury houses with exceptional crocodile leather. Its trademark? Retanning, finishing and developing.

Located in northern Italy, it is able to produce small batch orders with short lead times.

With the change of ownership, Ally Projects is changing its name to Heng Long Italy, a symbiosis between the Italian company and Heng Long, another Singapore-based crocodile leather tannery already owned by Lvmh Métiers d’Art.

This is a new step for LVMH Métiers d’Art, which supports the luxury group’s best suppliers over the long term, choosing them with care.
