Hyatt brands to enter new markets in Asia Pacific with new luxury hotels and resorts.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation recently announced plans for the continued growth of its brand portfolio in Asia Pacific. As a result, a robust network of iconic luxury hotels and resorts is expected to open in late 2022 and 2023.

“Following the easing of travel restrictions in much of Asia Pacific, we remain confident in the region’s recovery,” explains Carina Chorengel, senior vice president of commercial for Asia Pacific. “As people look to reconnect, explore new destinations or revisit reliable favorites, we are seeing greater demand for upscale accommodations and longer stays at Hyatt hotels. With nearly 70 percent of our global portfolio categorized as Luxury and Upscale, we are well positioned to meet the growing demand of upscale travelers in every segment we serve.”

In detail, several brands will make a strategic entry into new markets.

The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand will arrive in Japan, Andaz in Thailand and Hyatt Centric in Malaysia.

The Fuji Speedway Hotel, the first hotel under The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand, will enter the Japanese archipelago. Located in Shizuoka, an 80-minute drive from Tokyo, the 120-room hotel is not far from Mount Fuji and the legendary Fuji Speedway racetrack.  In Malaysia, the first Hyatt Centric branded hotel is scheduled to open as “Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu” in October 2022. Its contemporary design by Kengo Kuma is inspired by the natural forms of a tree.  It features 222 rooms and suites, all with private balconies overlooking the South China Sea, the green hills or the city center. It will have a rooftop pool, restaurant and bar overlooking the South China Sea.

Andaz Pattaya Jomtien Beach will mark the debut of the Andaz brand in Thailand in late 2022. A two-hour drive from Bangkok, the hotel’s location on a tranquil oceanfront sanctuary will introduce guests to another side of this popular destination. The 204-room resort draws on the site’s history as a private estate as well as the cultural heritage of nearby coastal villages. Travelers will enjoy the privacy of unique four- and six-room heritage homes with butler service and private pools. They will also be able to visit the traditional tea house, “Ruen Thai” available for ceremonies, monk blessings and meditation.

Among its other upcoming hotel openings in 2022 and 2023, the Hyatton Group announces the Grand Hyatt Shenzhou Peninsula, Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, Andaz Macau, Grand Hyatt Kunming, Andaz Nanjing Hexi and finally Alila Donghu Wuhan.
