Frank Boehly, the current president of the Conseil National du Cuir (CNC), was appointed yesterday, Wednesday, June 22, to head France Industries Créatives, an association supporting creation and innovation in the fashion sector.

He will succeed Pierre-François Le Louët, who has held this position since August 2020, and says he is “honored to have been elected to the presidency of France Creative Industries following Pierre-François Le Louët” . The latter has many responsibilities within the fashion industry. President of the French Federation of Women’s Ready-to-Wear and Vice President of the French Union of Fashion and Clothing Industries, he is also a member of the IFM board and a director of the Professional Committee for the Economic Development of Clothing (DEFI).

A big name in the fashion industry, Frank Boehly spent 15 years as a shoe retailer before becoming the sales director of the Labelle group’s distribution subsidiary between 1995 and 1999. He then held the position of president of the German footwear specialist Salamander until 2013. The following year, he became president of CNC and its subsidiaries, a position he still holds today.

What is France Creative Industries?

This is a new challenge for Frank Boehly. In addition to his positions as president of various companies such as the specialized incubator Au-delà du cuir (ADC) since 2020, he once again asserts his leading role in the French leather industry.

Created in the 1990’s, France Industries Créatives contributes to the support of French skills and know-how in the leather, fashion and clothing, leather goods, footwear, furniture, tableware, watchmaking, and jewelry sectors.

In order to carry out this mission, the creative industries benefit from the collective actions carried out around four CPDEs (Professional Committees for Economic Development): DEFI (fashion & clothing), CTC (leather), CODIFAB (furniture & wood) as well as Francéclat (tableware, jewelry, watchmaking-time industries & micro techniques).

The collective actions are mainly directed towards French VSEs and SMEs to support them. In a post published yesterday on LinkedIn, the new president encourages “to promote their competitiveness as well as their rich know-how, especially that of Made in France” .
