China : Heartland 66, the new home of luxury brands

Heartland 66, the skyscraper unveiled last March in Wuhan, China, is seeing luxury brands move in.

Home to thousands of years of cultural heritage and creativity, Wuhan is as attractive to travelers as it is to international brands or retailers trying to establish themselves in China. But in recent months, the city reached a new retail high when many of the world’s leading luxury houses unveiled their new storefronts at Heartland 66, a luxury shopping destination developed by Hang Lung Properties.

Opened in March this year, Heartland 66 shopping center has already become a landmark in Wuhan, poised to reshape the city’s luxury landscape with its strong portfolio of brands. Positioned as an upscale complex with quality offerings, the mall has proven its appeal as the destination of choice for many global brands to set up their first and exclusive stores in Central China.

On the second floor of the mall, you can find Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, Loewe, Moynat and Balenciaga (their first store in Wuhan), among others. On the second floor, Mulberry, Villebrequin and Marc Jacobs are located. As for high-end jewelry and accessories brands, Piaget, Bvlgari and Chaumet can be seen there. For watches, customers can visit Hublot, Vacheron Constantin or Jaeger-Lecoultre.

A wise choice

As China’s leading cities and regions mature and become oversaturated, luxury brands must look to booming regions like Central China. This geographic area includes many provinces in Henan, Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi.

This area has an incomparable geographical and economic advantage because it is connected to all other parts of the continent. With the rapid development of Central China, its people now have increasing disposable income and purchasing power to spend on luxury goods.

Heartland 66 is located on Jinghan Avenue. This is the center of Wuhan where many other high-end department stores are located. Today, the high-end shopping mall which has gathered a large number of luxury brands is able to attract not only the local residents but also visitors from all over central China.
