On the occasion of the ninetieth anniversary of the emblematic Reverso watch created in 1931, Jaeger-LeCoultre is setting up an exhibition, an immersive and cultural experience. Until December 24 in Paris, visitors will be able to discover the history and identity of one of the most prestigious watchmaking houses.

The Reverso watch is an iconic watch whose history began in India in 1930. The idea of a case that could turn over was a revolutionary concept at the time, and the Reverso was quickly adopted by trendsetters from all walks of life.

It is in homage to this exceptionally long-lived icon that Jaeger LeCoultre has created ”Reverso: Timeless since 1931”. More than an exhibition, it is a unique concept to be discovered and explored through an ephemeral boutique, with a fascinating retrospective, an Art Deco café and a discovery workshop. The ideal opportunity to explore, with the senses awakened, the cultural and creative universe of the Reverso watch, now a cult object of contemporary design.

The exhibition is divided into four parts, each exploring a facet of this prestigious watch. The first part goes back to the origins of the Reverso with the help of unpublished archive documents from the Jaeger-LeCoultre heritage, which are being shown to the public for the first time. The second part looks at the Reverso from an aesthetic angle, explaining what makes it unique. The third part is devoted to all the innovation that has been necessary, and that is still necessary, to keep the Reverso watch alive. Finally, the last part of the exhibition pays tribute to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s engravers, gem setters, master guilloche artists and enamellers, all those little hands endowed with exceptional know-how and who give the Reverso watch its unique and multiple identity.

The exhibition also honours all those whose expertise contributes to the prestige of the Reverso watch. Featured photo : Jaeger-LeCoultre.
