Fragonard opens a guest house in Arles

Fragonard is venturing into new horizons as the perfumer from Grasse has just opened a guest house in the former provincial capital of Ancient Rome, Arles.

The concept is quite simple : on the ground floor, the Fragonard boutique and just above it, the Maison Fragonard with six rooms spread over three floors. All three floors have a terrace with a breathtaking view over the rooftops of the city of Arles. The project was carried out by the Be-poles studio and the architect Renzo Wieder.

“For the first time, the Fragonard perfumery is inaugurating a unique place combining a boutique on the ground floor and a guest house on the upper floors”. says the brand.

It is in the small Provençal town of Arles that the Maison Fragonard decided to set down its suitcases to inaugurate this unique place, located a few steps from the Roman amphitheatre and the ancient theatre.

The heirs of the founder wanted to transcribe through this guest house, the Provencal identity dear to Fragonard. One finds in these places floor tiles, marble fireplaces surmounted by an exceptional terracotta medallion classified by the historical monuments. Each decorative object has been carefully and tastefully chosen to bring life to these six rooms.

“There is a mix of things bought and things found in our collections,” said Agnès Costa-Webster, CEO of Fragonard, continuing that the decoration reflects her and her sister’s tastes: “That is, a bit of an eclectic mix, with old and contemporary things.”

During your stay, you will be welcomed by the hostess, Camille : “Arlesian by birth and by heart, Camille, the hostess, loves her city and her native Provence. Generous and sunny, she will share with you her best addresses and welcome you on the day of your arrival in our house”, underlines Fragonard.

For the future, the two sisters hope to continue this trend : “If it works, we will do more,” said Agnès Costa-Webster. “It’s something we’re going to try to develop.”

The boutique offers the emblematic products of the House of Fragonard, but also exclusive items for the Arles site. Two fragrances, “Belle d’Arles and Rêve d’Arles”, have been specially created to celebrate the completion of this project.
