A few days ago, Giorgio Armani announced its desire to act in favour of the planet by setting environmental objectives, in particular by reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. The firm returned this Sunday by unveiling its half-yearly financial results, revealing the recovery of the sector.

Giorgio Armani’s turnover jumped by 34% in the first half of 2021. This is due to the activity in China and the United States, which has enabled the group to rebound from the impact of the health crisis on their sales.

However, the brand believes that it will probably take until 2022 to fully recover from the pandemic. Indeed, the Armani Group pointed out that consolidated net sales fell by 25% last year to €1.6 billion in the first half of 2020, a drop due in particular to the closure of physical sales outlets.

“The goal is to return to pre-pandemic levels by 2022, with (…) more than two billion euros in direct consolidated sales,” said the brand’s CEO, in a statement announcing the group’s 2020 results and the trend over the January-June period.

Armani believes that the sales trend in 2021 is positive and that the future seems to be gradually brightening, should the health situation improve or remain stable.
