Valentino will sponsor the Venice Biennale and present its collection

Venetian Works of Defence between 15th and 17th Centuries: Darsena, view of Gaggiandre (Arsenale, Venezia, Italy)

On the occasion of the 49th edition of the international theater festival in Venice, the Biennale, Valentino offers its new collection as a tribute to the City of the Doges.

It has been more than a year since the pandemic affects all sectors, but this is obviously not what will stop Valentino. The latter, since the beginning of the health crisis, has been able to play with the constraints to always offer the discovery of their new collections, whether through virtual or digital shows. Now that the indicators point to the best, the choice of the city of Venice to present the next collection on July 15th is not insignificant.

Indeed, the creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli chose the Italian city and the “Gaggiandre” area of the Venice Arsenal for many reasons. In itself, the place is composed of a large double internal dock, perfectly suited for the runway and therefore it will not require any architectural intervention that could distort the place. Moreover, the city of Venice is a haven for cultural events, hosting throughout the year various Italian cultural events in addition to the “Venice Biennale“, such as the film festival “Mostra di Venezia“.

In revealing the location last May, Pierpaolo Piccioli, said “All these energies have pushed my vision towards Venice. This city truly and spontaneously generates vibrations about art, theater, music, architecture, cinema and everything related to creativity. That’s why the decision to go for this idea was natural. I am a designer, a fashion designer and I need to consider my creations in specific settings. Venice is the setting for the Valentino Des Ateliers collection“.

Valentino is committed to continuing to meet its commitments by offering a fashion show that is increasingly inclusive and respectful of environmental standards: in particular by offering alternatives in plastic while the house has already integrated more ecological choices for its fashion shows by stopping the use of fur, or also in the choice of paper packaging. The Italian house is taking up the issue of eco-consciousness in order to uphold the values of authenticity.
