JAGUAR ACCELERATES ITS ELECTRIC TRANSITION AND MOVES UPMARKET

Thierry Bolloré, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, revealed to Auto Express newspaper that with its move to 100% electric, Jaguar wants to strengthen its position in the luxury segment. The price of the vehicles starts at 115,000 euros.

 

Reinventing modern luxury is what Thierry Bolloré wants to do. The objective with these new electric Jaguar is to compete with Bentley. Jaguar should become a 100% electric brand in the long term.

 

In addition to accelerating its rise in range, this new positioning will allow the brand to move away from the German firms Audi, BMW or Mercedes.

 

A sporty two-door model

 

Also in the same interview, Thierry Bolloré announced that the design of the future Jaguar range produced in 2025 has already been found. In total, three new models, including a two-door sports version and two crossovers. “Jaguar was incredibly successful when the E-Type came on the market, and this model was the copy of nothing,” explains the French boss.

 

Thierry Bolloré concludes the interview by explaining that he studied the possibility of buying Jaguar Land Rover when he was CEO at Renault. For him, this buyout was more aimed at Land Rover because at that time, he considered Jaguar as “damaged”.
