Jeremy Jauncey becomes new Panerai’s ambassador

Jeremy Jauncey, an actor of change in the field of travel and the environment, became the new ambassador of the Italian watchmaking company Panerai on Tuesday 8 June, on the occasion of World Ocean Day.

If this collaboration comes as no surprise, it is because of the common values that the two share: a passion for adventure and eco-responsible practices. Jeremy Jauncey is the founder of Beautiful Destinations, a multi-award winning agency specialising in strategy and creation for the tourism industry. It has been ranked by Fast Company as one of the world’s most innovative and influential agencies in its sector. It is also very successful on social networks, with over 17.7 million followers on Instagram.

Panerai was founded in 1860 in Florence and was acquired in 1997 by the Richemont group. It is a watchmaking company that includes a workshop, a boutique and a watchmaking school. It has been the supplier of precision instruments to the Italian Navy for decades. Panerai has a strong position in the luxury watchmaking sector and develops and produces its own watches enlace importante. These are now sold throughout the world through an exclusive network of authorised dealers and mono-brand boutiques.

Jeremy Jauncey expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration: “I have loved Panerai for many, many years and it is a great honour to join the Panerai family. I’m thrilled to support their sustainability initiatives and to bring this incredible brand to a new audience” .

Jean-Marc Pontroué, CEO of Panerai, in turn said that the decision to enter into a relationship with him was a naturally obvious one: “Environmental degradation is among the most critical challenges imaginable. With projects like the Submersible eLAB-ID™, the watch with the highest percentage of recycled materials ever seen in watchmaking, Panerai is taking the lead in reducing the ecological impact of its industry. Jeremy is at the forefront of tackling these same issues in his field: travel. We are delighted to be able to combine our respective expertise to create products and solutions that can make the world a better place” .

This new partnership is a logical consequence of the Italian company’s objective to reduce its environmental impact. Last April, Panerai announced a partnership with UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, involved in its Ocean Literacy initiative, creating a global community of people working to conserve and restore the world’s oceans. “Sustainable development is now a hot topic,” said Jean-Marc Pontroué.
