For its 36th edition, Christian Louboutin will be the president of the jury for the selection of accessories at the Hyères fashion festival, which will take place from 14 to 17 October.

The launch ceremony at which the juries and finalists were announced was held, despite the lockdown. The three juries also selected ten finalists in each of their categories, who were unveiled on Tuesday evening at the same time.

The news was revealed on Tuesday night live on the Instagram of the Villa Noailles, which hosts the Festival as it does every year. “Usually, the juries and finalists are revealed in Paris, in January, during Fashion Week. But as there is no Fashion Week in this period, we have chosen to play at home”, confides Jean-Pierre Blanc, the founder and general director of the event.

To select the winner, Christian Louboutin will be accompanied by Paula Amorim (founder and president of Amorim Luxury Group), Marco Antonio Brandolini d’Adda (artist), Corinne Dj (performer), Zuleika Penniman (jewellery designer), Suzanne von Aichinger (head of photography at Christian Louboutin, artistic director), Ddiddue and Juana Etcheberry (fashion accessory designers, Ordiap, Grand Prix du jury Accessoires de mode and Prix Hermès des Accessoires de mode, Hyères 2020).

The ten accessory designers finalists are: Rayna Amuro (Japan), Agathe Campet (France), Lou Chartes (France), Mathilde Heintz (France), Capucine Huget (France), Manon Marcelot (France), Ferdinand Martin (France), Benjamin Spencer (USA), Violette Stehli (France – Switzerland), Yann Tosser-Roussey (France).

Traditionally held in spring, the festival will be held in autumn, from 14 to 17 October 2021, due to the health crisis as in the previous year.

“We were very happy with the way it worked out. The October date worked for everyone, so we kept it for this 2021 edition, especially as the fashion schools were closed in January, which is when registrations usually open. We wanted to give young people more time and the opportunity to work calmly on their application”, says Jean-Pierre Blanc.

As for the other categories, the British Louise Trotter, artistic director of Lacoste, will chair the jury in the fashion category, and the photographer Dominique Issermann in the photography category.
