Tomorrow, the famous Watch & Wonders 2021 watch fair opens its doors for 10 days during which new luxury watches from 38 major brands, including Rolex, TAG Heuer, Cartier and Patek Philipp will be presented. Focus on the most anticipated novelties of the show.

The 2021 edition will take place in two stages, in digital format in Geneva from 7 to 13 April, and with a physical exhibition in Shanghai from 14 to 18 April.

More than 40 online keynotes, 400 local digital presentations, 500 press conferences, six panels, one-on-one meetings and a daily “Morning Show” will be broadcast live or recorded on the watchesandwonders.com from 7am tomorrow.

This live content is by invitation only, although houses can post content for public consumption on the Watches And Wonders website.

Between media, retailers and end customers, a total of 23,000 visitors will attend the must-see event.

Although the show officially starts tomorrow morning, some brands have already unveiled their new products.

The L.U.C. Quattro Spirit 25

This year, Chopard’s renowned Quattro technology will debut its first jumping hour movement at the event.

The 100-piece L.U.C. Quattro Spirit 25 collector’s edition features an eight-day power reserve, an extraordinary capacity compared to the usual 42 hours of a typical single barrel movement. This is also impressive for a jumping hour, which requires a lot of energy from the mainspring.

Chopard’s four-barrel system normally provides 216 hours of power reserve. The jumping hour version, equipped with the L.U.C 98.06-L calibre, offers 190 hours.

The dial has a white grand feu enamel back painted with a black grand feu enamel railway-style minute track. The case is made of 18-carat ethical white gold and measures 36 mm by 9.84 mm. It comes with a blue alligator leather strap. The watch is worth $61,000.

The Reptilis Watch by Cartier

Elegance, illumination and virtuosity are found in Cartier’s evening watch, which redesigns the sensuality of the snake. It is composed of pavé chevrons that intertwine with each other, bordered by princess-cut diamonds.

These mobile elements weave a flexible, articulated ribbon as a bracelet. The rectangular dial is punctuated by 4 diamond hour markers.

The case, in 18-carat rhodium-plated white gold and enamel, measures 12.80 mm in diameter and 6.60 mm thick.

The FB RS skeleton regulator by Ferdinand Berthoud

This new ultra-exclusive watch is limited to just 20 pieces and is aimed at elite collectors. The new Régulateur Squelette movement, a first for the brand, will be produced in a limited edition of 20 pieces and the brand is offering customers the choice of a sleeker round case or a more daring octagonal version.

Alongside this new version, the brand is committed to communicating the total number of units created for each internal calibre in the future.

“Our primary objective is to preserve the interests of collectors,” said Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, president of Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud in a press release. “By explicitly specifying a predetermined number of movements, we are engaging in a fully transparent procedure. Collectors are as sensitive to the rarity of their timepiece as to the calibre that powers it. By communicating both, we put watch movements and customers in the spotlight, preserving the integrity of their collection.”

The case is made of stainless steel for the FB 1Rs.6 or 18-carat pink gold for the FB 2Rs.2. Note that this steel is case-hardened, which means that it has a scratch- and corrosion-resistant surface, while the gold version is certified as ethically sourced. It measures 44 mm by 13.9 mm for the FB 1Rs.6 and 44 mm by 14.26 mm for the FB 2Rs.2

The strap is made of hand-stitched black or brown alligator leather.
