Livy  is a French high lingerie brand created 3 years ago by a lingerie designer: Lisa Chavy previously stylist for the Etam group and who has just opened her boutique-workshop in the capital.

“I couldn’t find any lingerie that I really wanted to wear,” says Livy’s founder about the general lingerie market.

After working for Christian Dior, developing the Undiz brand, she decided to create her own brand with the aim of offering women lingerie that is more modern, luxurious, but affordable while clashing with the traditional codes of French lingerie.

“My style is structured, graphic, precise. I like assertive designs, bold cuts, contrasts between colours and materials. This new way of looking at lingerie has allowed me to imagine elements that have become real signatures at LIVY: jewellery details, single-frame, tattoo lingerie, worked backs and heat-sealed fabrics”.

An audacious woman, Lisa Chavy decided to open her boutique-workshop in Paris in the middle of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and especially in the midst of the pandemic. At a time when shops are closing down, the designer saw the crisis as an opportunity.

“I wanted to see this period of crisis as a period of opportunity, the idea came to me during the confinement, when we launched a production of masks to participate in the national effort. We thought a lot about what we wanted to do next, for “the next world”, and I wanted us to bring creation and production closer together”.

In her authentic workshop, the woman then offers different collections but also tailor-made creations. What better way to make customers feel a sense of rarity and provide them with a unique set of lingerie. Moreover, the workshop also allows them to appreciate the time and know-how needed to make a set.

According to the designer and her seamstresses, it takes a lot of patience to create a set: a bra takes two days, three days for a bustier and more time for corsets, which require “real know-how”. Each piece is made in 20 steps, sometimes using 15 different materials.

A marriage of modernity and traditional, such is the new trend preferred by luxury designers, “I didn’t want us to confine ourselves to traditional know-how, but also to be a force for innovation in the world of lingerie”, expressed Lisa Chavy.

The brand then offers private collections and basic ready-to-wear collections. The former are thus dedicated to special events such as weddings or red carpet events. And the latter are designed for women who are looking for more than just lingerie: a fashion accessory in its own right, original and delicate.

Lace, hidden clasps and visual illusions are the main trademarks of Lisa Chavy whose concept is already enjoying great success with a catwalk show during Paris Fashion Week one month after the opening of her boutique.
