Jeweller Fred provides support to the nursing staff

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

To fight the coronavirus and to support the nursing staff, the Fred brand is mobilizing. By joining the “Visors of Hope” operation, the French jewellery house is participating in the production of protective visors for hospitals.

Faced with the urgency of the health crisis and the shortage of masks in France, a large number of initiatives are launched.

Among these, the project “Les Visières de l’Espoir” (Visors of Hope), whose main objective is to manufacture protective equipment at full speed using 3D printers.

The project was set up by 3D Natives, an online publication specialising in the 3D printer market. On Friday 20 March, a resuscitator from Caen University Hospital launched a call for help on the site to find protective equipment. Message received. Within a few hours, about twenty companies were mobilized and imagined a prototype that was quickly validated by the doctors of Caen University Hospital.

Thus a complete shipment of resistant and reusable visors, covering the entire face, was sent to Caen University Hospital in just 48 hours.

In the current emergency situation, 3D printers are the only way to produce very quickly, whereas it takes at least two to three weeks to launch traditional plastic injection manufacturing, with molds that are often in China,” says Alexandre Martel, co-founder of 3D Natives.

A surge of generosity that has touched the Fred company, which is now committed to contributing to this ever-growing phenomenon of solidarity.

In an official press release, the jewellery house specifies that “the first visors have already been delivered to the Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris, which will distribute them according to the different needs“.

It also specifies that it will donate 20% of its online sales to Visières de l’Espoir, from April 10 to May 31 next.

And the house with the golden shackle does not stop there. In addition to its logistical and financial support, it is celebrating the unfailing commitment of the medical staff by putting imagination and creativity to work.

Fred thus invites every Internet user to make a drawing, share it under the hashtag #drawforourheroes and accompanied by the tag @fredjewelry. Every evening, at 8 pm sharp, accompanied by daily applause, the house will publish a drawing of his choice.

A compilation will be edited as a precious book in the wake of this health crisis and donated to a hospital as a thank you for all their unbridled efforts.
