Responsible fashion
Many stylists today are committed to using recycled materials or environmentally friendly techniques, such as Priya Ahluwalia, which revives second-hand clothes.
Bethany Williams doubles this commitment to a social approach. Consecrated “Emerging Talent” last month during the annual ceremony of the Fashion awards, British fashion awards, the 30-year-old designer worked this season with the association The Magpie project which helps mothers and homeless children.
Coats with ultra-long sleeves with fringes at the collar, multi-material overalls: here the garment is worn extra large and the colors explode.
Iranian wedding
Came to attend the Paria Farzaneh parade on Saturday, the public found themselves transported to Iran for the celebration of a marriage, a scene all the more striking since it occurred the day after the death of the Iranian general Qassel Soleimani killed by an American drone attack. “In these uncertain times, it is good to have a moment of celebration,” said the British stylist of Iranian descent after the show.
Women are asked to sit on one side, men on the other, to attend the exchange of vows of the newlyweds, in Farsi. The groom wears a hooded jacket which he zips up to his eyes.
Floral and delicate prints, signature of the stylist, line the sleeves of khaki parkas or brighten up hoods of anoraks.
Edward Crutchley, a glamorous man
It’s a “glam era” for stylist Edward Crutchley, one of the rising stars of British fashion. His collection revolves around the theme of opulence and he does not hesitate to go against the tide with a voluminous mink coat as the centerpiece.
Triangular hats inspired by heroes, people of Namibia, shoulders borrowing their shapes from traditional Filipino dresses, tuxedo pants or Hawaiian shirts in psychedelic colors, the collection is an extravagant mixture of genres, celebration of a world without borders.
London Fashion Week is now over, it will be exported to Italy to join Milan Fashion Week from January 10 to 14, 2020.
