American Girl, the American leader in toys and a subsidiary of Mattel, announced that it has teamed up with Swarovski crystals to create stunning displays for its flagship stores in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles this year.
Officially opened on Friday, November 8, the Holiday Showcases feature an American-inspired winter wonder containing 350 strands of Swarovski crystal in all three points of sale.
For the inauguration in New York City, guests were among the first to see, pose and even buy an exclusive American Girl Holiday Collector doll, each of which took more than 40 hours to be hand embellished with more than 5,000 Swarovski crystals and pearls.
Grammy-winning artist Ciara was the VIP host of the evening at the prestigious American Girl boutique located at Rockefeller Plaza Shopping Center in New York City.
During the event, 10% of sales went to Russell Wilson and Ciara’s Why Not You Foundation, which offers scholarships to help young people in King County continue their education.
Michelle Rice, SVP Operations of Swarovski Professional North America, said: “We are very proud to partner with American Girl for the first time in such a multi-dimensional way. From creating custom collectible dolls, to adding Swarovski glow to their flagship stores and Christmas trees in thousands of homes across America with exclusive ornament, our goal through this partnership is to make the imagination shine and who better than American Girl to do that.”
American Girl Holiday displays are on display throughout the season, from November 8 to December 31.
