The world’s leading luxury car manufacturer with nearly 2.24 million cars sold worldwide in 2017, Mercedes built itself a reputation of reliability. After entering the third millennium, which saw the automotive inventor group move behind its eternal rival, BMW, Mercedes has diversified with its compact and SUV models. It now represents 34% of Mercedes’ sales worldwide. The brand is able to adapt to market demand since 40% of its models are now compact (AB) or medium-sized (Class C).

After renewing its A-Class and its wear-resistant 4WD G-Class this summer, Mercedes will launch a sedan version of the A-Class, awaiting the CLA (four-door coupé) and its station wagon version. These new features meet the demand for affordable models. The Stuttgart star is not forgetting luxury with the arrival of the AMG GT four-door coupé and the AMG Project One supercar, 300 of which are due to be launched this year.

By 2025, Mercedes announces that 50% of its range will be electrified, either more than 130 different models. The brand announces the development of plug-in hybrid models (including diesel) and the launch of a 100% electric range, called Mercedes EQ. At the end of 2019, the compact of the range, which will be a version of the A-Class, will be manufactured in the Daimler Group’s French factory in Hambach, Moselle.
