Jean Paul Gaultier goes animals fur free
Jean-Paul Gaultier has decided to give up animal fur. Indeed, the creator announced his decision on Canal + set.
After Donnatella Versace, Armani or Gucci, the designer follows the example.
“It is true that fur is more sensual than fake fur, which is unfortunate to say. But we can also find other ways to warm up. So maybe it will allow us to move towards a creative part that won’t hurt” he said.
Many animal welfare associations have praised the commitment of the famous designer. For PETA: “This excellent news comes after years of pressure from PETA and its affiliates, including the interruption of one of the designer’s shows in 2002 by an activist protesting her use of fur, and the irruption of activists in her Parisian shop in 2006, led by PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk. This is a strong signal, Jean-Paul Gaultier is internationally known“.
