South African jeweler De Beers launched the second chapter of its Haute Joaillerie collection at Fashion Week Haute Couture 2023 in Paris . Called Metamorphosis, it follows the first part of the January collection, Prélude.

De Beers‘ new Haute Joaillerie collection, Metamorphosis, revealed at Couture Fashion Week 2023, is inspired by the four seasons. Each theme has its own aesthetic, highlighting the South African House’s exceptional savoir-faire.

With Chapter Two, we continue this poetic ode to the beauty of nature’s constant evolution,” said Céline Assimon , CEO of De Beers.

Spring is represented by the overlapping petals of the King Protea, a large flower native to southern Africa, where many De Beers diamonds are harvested. The Spring set is inspired by the flower’s feminine hues, with diamond-set petals sculpted in white and rose gold.

The Summer set draws its inspiration from the spirals of ammonite fossils (cephalopod mollusks). It is crafted from a combination of yellow gold, white diamonds and rough and polished yellow fancy diamonds. With its impressive volumes, the Summer set forges a link between prehistoric creatures and today’s rough diamonds.

The Autumn set is represented by leaves, as if blown by the wind. The idea was to evoke the colors of autumn on these rose gold pieces, hand-painted in grand feu enamel. This is the first time this technique has appeared in the de Beers collections.

Last but not least, the Winter set captures the icy beauty of the coldest season of the year, with graphic diamond sparkles representing ice fragments on frozen lakes. As sophisticated as it is marvelous, the idea behind this set was to create a polished texture that evokes sunlight dancing on ice. Between geometry, symmetry and movement, this set perfectly illustrates De Beers’ savoir-faire.

Other pieces include multi-finger rings, earrings and even a tiara.

With this collection, the De Beers brand proves its mastery of diamond transformation, while also offering some of the most beautiful stones on the planet.
